About Daniel Sheflin
Engineering and technology executive Daniel Sheflin works as the Vice President of Automation and Control Solutions with Honeywell International Inc., in Golden Valley, Minnesota. In this role, he manages more than 5,000 engineers and scientists. Furthermore, Sheflin oversees all research and development activities for the Automation and Control Solutions division of Honeywell, which holds a value of more than $16 billion. Since joining the company more than a decade ago, Daniel Sheflin has reduced new product development cycles by more than 50 percent and tripled the rate of new product introductions.
Previously, between 1996 and 2001, Daniel Sheflin served as the General Manager of Engineering and the General Manager of the Locomotive Division for General Electric in Erie, Pennsylvania. In that capacity, he oversaw a team of 500 engineers and assumed responsibility for the next generation of low-emission, energy-efficient locomotives.
Daniel Sheflin laid the foundations for his career at University at Buffalo, The State University of New York, where he received a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering and Metallurgy. A member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, he graduated in the top 10 percent of his class. After completing his undergraduate studies, Sheflin went on to complete a Master of Science in Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, where he majored in Control Engineering.
A longtime proponent of community service and charitable giving, Daniel Sheflin supports the efforts of organizations such as the Make-A-Wish Foundation, the FIRST Robotics Competition, and the First United Methodist Church of Port Orange, Florida.
